Mahogany Ice

A seraphim carrying the sun on wings of a new day-
Spreading his wings over snow covered mountains
A valley hidden from man
A valley for the gentle beast
and
the home of the statuesque evergreen
In this radiant land of fantasy
The Cardinal and the Crow blend into the
ice of tomorrow, and yesterday, and glow in the sun of today.
In this hidden land stands a window in time-
Stone the color of mustard and mossy green
Rough and smooth the texture of lace
Clear arched window surrounded by stained chiseled glass
A ledge of mahogany ice holds a delicate bonsai the color of lilac.
This soft color of lilac caresses her fragile limbs
and
gently brings out her soothing gift of serenity.
Beside her stands the playful unicorn
and
he lives only in this place called
Mahogany Ice.
A crystal ball with hidden mists camouflaging silvery castles
with dancing snow maidens
sit on this elegant ledge of mahogany ice.
Victorian baskets trimmed with satin ribbons of vibrant blue,
filled with roses of red, yellow, and delicate peach-
Sprays
of
Lilly of The Valley
surrounded with the delicate twigs of babies breath
Flowing grapes that are sweet ambrosia to hungry lips fill this basket
from the land of Mahogany Ice
So come all you gentle souls
Close your eyes and let your mind drift into the
portals of imagination
and
journey into the land
of
Mahogany Ice.
