Breath of Fresh Air

There are times in your life,
when you need someone to be there.
Someone who can listen and will understand,
your overwhelming need to share.

I met that someone today,
and like a breath of fresh air.
They’ve pulled me out of my shell,
reminding me there’s still someone out there.

Not that I’ve found love,
for that was not my goal.
Simply a friend who can communicate,
provide nourishment for my soul.

I won’t lie; I think she’s fine,
and MAN she has beautiful eyes.
But more important, she makes me smile
when in my heart I want to cry.

I haven’t known her long and I know its wrong
but I wonder what the future might hold.
For now I thank God
for sending me such a beautiful woman to behold.

When my Honey-Love and I met, we weren't looking for love, either. We became best friends before we fell in love, and continue to be best friends ...and in love...after more than five years. So, it does happen.
