I can't help but compare
the ocean to me
the shore is my lover
and I am the sea.

The sandy beach becons me
and my slithery fingertips
as I tease every grain
with my salty lips.

Always reaching out
and wanting more
I pour all my love
on that sandy shore.

Never satisfied with one
yet jealous by another
the tide rushes in
and smothers my lover.

In shame I retreat
to a lonely lagoon
where the weeping willows wail
a pittyful tune.

Alone and confused
I wonder down stream
in hopes of recapturing
the love of my dreams.

wonderful poetic use of imagery, personification and
analogy in this bittersweet beauty.
Well done quatro!!

All I can feel is this distance between you and me.
I can say I love you but I can't make you believe me
because touching is believing.

Passing Shadows,
Thank you.  I hope I will also find what I seek.  This game has been going on for far too long.

Roniece,
Glad to have you along anytime. The journey is always lonely.

Timothy,
I'm glad you enjoyed this.  It was fun to write.

Janet,
Thank you so much for your kind words.

Decaflame,
My journey's are always long and hard and I look forward to when I can make it back and walk along the sandy beach with you - wind in my hair. Will you still be there?

SEA,
How wonderfully poetic that your name fits the poem. I'm glad you enjoyed.  Thank you.

Kahlil,
Thank you for reading and taking the time to respond.
