You should come and see my mountain,
I wish I still lived there,
It's down in Alabama,
Beauty everywhere.

Leaves of many colors,
God's gifts extraordinaire,
Nature's glory showing,
For all of us to share.

Chameleon's can change color,
Lilacs turn green to blue,
But nature at it's finest,
Has unmatched colored hues.

There's little that compares,
To what our eyes can see,
Nothing can be purchased
That God provides for free.

Kodak cannot reproduce,
The colors that he'll show-ya,
Nor can a box of simple crayons,
Offered by Crayola.

Hallucinogenic colors
Without the drugs to take,
Just look down off my mountain top,
God's spendor can't be faked.

Beautifully written, Toe. You are right, no painting or man creation compares to that of the Master Artist...

Enjoyed!

I love this, sweets... I've seen those Bama mountains (though maybe not yours *G*) blazing with color in both fall and spring... and almost ended up visiting them up close and personal when I paid more attention to the scenery than to the road. *G* It's an unforgettable sight that you've captured as beautifully with your words as anyone could hope to with a camera. *S*

God does indeed create unbelievable, unforgettable masterpieces... thanks for giving us a glimpse of this one you love so much. *S* Your poem is a masterpiece in its own right. *S*

When I read the title, I thought that this was going to be an autobiographical poem!

This appeals to me more than you'll ever know!

Nonetheless, this is beautiful and so true.  I'm saving this in my library

Toe...this is so beautifully written.  You've painted
quite a masterpiece here, and it reminds me of my visits
to Alabama.  My dad was born in Georgia and was raised
in Georgia and Alabama, so I've been back there to
visit family many times.  It really is beautiful
there, and you've described it wonderfully.

Toe...I have a favorite mountain too, like you.  It is splendid from below looking up and up looking below.  Loved the view of yours through poetry.

Buzz, this is one of the most beautiful poems I've
ever read. You really did paint
us a picture of your mountain with your
words. I'm going to keep thie in my library.

One reason it's so special is that both my parents
were born and raised in Alabama.
I was born there, also, and lived there until I was in the third grade when we moved
to Florida. I have lots and lots of relatives
in your state. I've seen lots of those Alabama
mountains, too.........Hey, can you tell
that I love Alabama about as much as I love
Florida? Gary and I hope one day to move back
there in fact.
Hugs,
Ethel

Nice job Toe...I would not mind seeing what
you see from this mountain of yours...
