~*~

I was born a poor boy
Down by the railroad tracks
Everywhere I'd go
I'd hear the whistle blow
And I won't be goin' back, no, no
No, I won't be goin' back

I never had no money
I was poor all of my days
Not a dollar or a dime
Nor a nickel was mine
But I'm gonna change my ways, mm, mm
Yes I'm gonna change my ways
Yes I am! Yes I am! Yes I am!

One by one, my friends were gone
To seek fortune and fame
One day I turned around
Everyone was gone
And I never saw them again, no, no
No, I never saw them again

I knew I had no future
In this God-forsaken town
So I grabbed the morning train
I head out in the rain
And I won't be comin' back, no, no
No, I won't be comin' back

For years I searched, to find myself
But nowhere did I belong
New places came and went
But I was still Hell-bent
To keep a movin' on
Movin' on! Movin' on! Movin' on!

I finally, made something of me
A respectable kind of guy
Got a job, a wife and kids
No longer on the skids
Gonna live life 'til I die, mm, mm
Gonna live life 'til I die
'Til I die! 'Til I die! 'Til I die!

I was born a poor boy
Down by the railroad tracks
Everywhere I'd go
I'd hear the whistle blow
And I never did go back, no, no
No, I never did go back
No, no! No, no! No, no!

Linda - did I ever mention the story of when I left that town? Sounds all to familar, and brought back many, many, memories of a time ago. You tell it well...

Bridgette ~

These are the lyrics to one of the songs that I have written. I thought I'd test the waters and post a few. Some I have changed a bit to make them poetic friendly, but this one I just kept as is. The verses are interspersed with instrumentals (guitar).

Thank you for your reply!

Have a great day!

Your having had a similar experience has helped shaped you into the troubador that you are today!

Happy springtime!

(smiles) Oh Linda, this is wonderful, sweet friend, I wish I could hear you sing, though I at least want to always have warm clothes, a warm bed, my guitar and my health, I do think growing up and learning how to enjoy lide without wealth has its advantages, I prefer the country life myself and if I ever became famous for what I do, I'd probably give almost all my money to my family and charities! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story

Noah ~

I'd love to hear your angelic voice as well!
I love to sing!--it makes my spirit happy!

Music, song and laughter--and love! --make the world go 'round!

May the air you breathe fill you with song,
Linda

Coming from you, that is quite a compliment! My musical "career" pales in comparison to yours!

Gosh, you write songs too? How fortunately are you to have all that talent rolled into one person.

Great lyrics ... now come to Boston and sing for me.

Howdy Linda Lou

I sure do wish that you and Lulabelle would
hop on a plane (or a train) and come on down
here to Florida. We'd all be so glad to
see and hear you.

I love this, sweet Earthey Angel, and am looking forward to seeing more of your lyrics.
Hugs to you,
Ethel

Ethel ~

Your comments were so ding dang sweet and made me want to hop the next train and come see you down there in sunny Florida! Who knows! Maybe our paths will cross some day!

Sing and the world sings with you!
Lovin' hugs,
Linda
