I’m afraid to hold your hand I guess it’s just an Irrational conviction From my bleeding, injured soul, It’s a sorrow-like addiction And it’s taking all control… Too afraid to love you, I know the way things work. My past has taught me bitterly, And what is good, Must turn bad… If happy now I’ll soon be sad. It’s just the cold, and dark, The death and blood, That follow right behind The curdling screams And living dreams, The nightmares left Within my mind. It’s a warning, ‘Cause I love you, Its caution ‘cause I care… To spread your arms and hug me Is to take a dying dare. - And so it was that time stood still - |

Oh boy, and I thought I was cursed!  Makes me feel good to know that someone else out there is "poison" to whoever gets touched! HA HA I'm sorry, I know this is written probably in some pain, but I found it very refreshing - the ending though has a haunting sort of dangerous feel...I love how you ended it, and wrapped it all up. PoetSeaMaiden, Lol, yea it always is comforting when you find out you aren't the only crazy one. Seriously I do understand the irrationality of this, But that doesn't negate any fear.. I still know how many funerals I've been too! Its sad, though, and comforting to know others can understand. Thank you for all the compliments Ericc, why thank you! Alyssa, Sorry I missed this, haven't been reviewing much poetry last few days. You wrote this with such heart touching honesty, so sad, yet realistic. Hugs to you and much love and caring, it can't continue to happen but it certainly understanding how you feel. The right will come along, if he hasn't and you will learn to love again and feel safe..
