I've composed the following for a retiring principal in our area. Your thoughts appreciated!

A PrinciPal

There used to be a princiPAL, his name was Dr. Mack.
If he saw you doin’ your best, he’d pat you on the back.

If you had some  problems, you’d have a little chat;
and he would try  to help you clean up your act.

You’d see him on the playground, with a smile on his face;
he’d stop and play some ball with you, and help you find first base.

If given the choice to be away, or spend the day at school,
the school would win every time, but mostly ‘cause of you.

You see, Kids, you are the best reason for his time,
and choosing to retire, weighed heavy on his mind.

But he’s worked so hard, it’s for the best, he deserves some leisure in the sun.
It seems to me, his memories will add to all his fun.

So wish him well, when you say, “Good-bye,” and let him know you care.
Then hope, with all your heart, for the one who fills his chair.

Now, I have to say, I have no doubt, you’ll fill the recesses of his mind,
‘Cuz teachin’ kids, and helpin’ kids, has been the best part of his time.

You’ll know he’s riding, across the plains, on his palomino’s back,
or relaxing, with his kitty, on his patio out back.

So bid “Adieu,” say “Good-bye,” “Adios” will be fine,
and try with all your might not sit outside and whine!

VAS,

I think it wonderful. What are you going to do with it?

I like what you did with the title:

Enjoyed, Pat
