Magnified

And there I was,
chin on hand,
with magnified thoughts
more or less important,
an inflated smile
bringing me back to you.

So what of it?
Who lit that candle again?
Why celebrate another year of emotions,
webbed between the insanity of words?

I have lettered in you,
adhering to your imprints, weakening
in the black sheerness of fantasy.

The mirror mocks me,
flames my urges, compels me
to distort my realizations, feign my senses
into a disciplined pattern.

Play me the triangle,
a menage a trois, connected,
fine tuned, and anchored, turning corners
following a path, sequenced by
the unvarying you.

M

There's something descreetly sudductive about this which I enjoy. It may just be my lack of experienced in the world of poetry, but I do find it a tad confusing at times, particularly the last verse, however take nothing away its a truly intruiging poem.

So much to be said for this...
I could interpret it all kinds of ways!
Love your naked thoughts, and the slight
edge you give to them.

In the last verse, I guess it was my way of saying I have 3 personalities on here, all connected, each day  turning the corners...same path.

*s thank you for reading

You snuck in there Lori. Boy is it humid here today as we await more rain...trying on clothes is no fun, especially when most no longer fit anyway,  you timed it perfectly.

Oh, I get it! There's three of you! That just triples our pleasure!

I usually have to read your poems two or three times!--and that's a good thing! You make me think!

Have a great day!

M-
Holy smoke and mirrors, woman.  I had to read this gem countless times.  Three of you, turning the corners interconnected.  There is but one Maureen...couldn't be more than one...so unique and beautiful she is.  She brings to the table so many lovely qualities because of her moods and personalities.

You are wonderful!

Hugs,
Patricia
