You...
are a natural drug
I cannot live without

even though I know
the good side effects
may not last forever

You...
reside in each heartbeat
rhythmically moving in love

even as I feel
the negative effects
of your withdrawal

You...
come and go
without warning

even as I lay in wait
wanting and hoping,
often in vain.

There is attachment here ... and a hint of sadness. Well, very well expressed.
I do hope you will not wait too often in vain ...if the side effects persist, consider detachment ....
Your love is strongly felt.
Love, Margherita

I LOVE this...I know how this feels...~hugs~ I love this very, very much and am going to write it down as the printer decided to quit, lol. Once again, I absolutely love this

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Sweet, wistful, longing, everything that a good poem needs.
