My face against the coolness
Of the mirror I used to loath
Now not afraid of the reflection
I relish the clarity
And lack of deception

The passage of time
Has filed away the rough edged
Scar seared so deep
That the scrape of its ugliness
Used to be felt
By the blindman across the street
Without his Braille touch

I realize
What few understand
That with the rise and fall of the sun
Each new moon brought
A small piece of acceptance
A small victory for battles fought
And eroded in each small way
The mountains I made
Of living

Wonderful, the both of you...even if Susan "wrote it all" and you only "prettified it up a bit"...still...she has been an apt student of her mentor, and has made an excellent attempt to pick up the skill you possess...
