How many times must a man be reminded
the spring is not only in the bed
it is also in the flowers
in the trees
in the eye of the beholder
in the precious realization
the world is spending
time on others too
others that know the will of the word
love means to give out of one's needs
out of one's heart
not out of one's surplus
how many times must a man wake-up
with the sunrise
and realize that dreams are
always lonely when they're not shared
how many times before he can become
the hero of his own self control
by searching with the fingers of his heart
realizing he is never alone
but a part of the shifting whispering winds
of consciousness,
consciousness that is vacant without love

how many times before he becomes a man
a man with an open mind and open heart and open arms

hopefully today before tomorrow........

Eric... A poem for everyman who searches for meaning and finds that he carries it around with him.

For what it's worth, I cannot tell you how impressed I am with your thoughts, your writing--and you! Your day has most definitely come, my good man!

Warm hugs,
Linda

So howd ya get to be so wise anyway?
Such a lovely, wisdom filled poetic ponderance dear Eric..sure have missed reading you groovy guy.

You're the best I've ever felt ...
it's so wrong not to be with you.
It's getting harder to stay away,
it stops my heart just to be with you.

like the lines about giving out of surplus and not from the heart....kinda fits the Canadian political regimen...reminds me of the years of supplying surplus wheat but not  following it through for whatever reason until it actually reaches the needy instead of rotting at ports...know I'm going off the handle here but just a thought
