I found out today that my pap died 2 this morning...
he was 90..

I remember when I was younger
I'd sit beside you
When you read your paper
Give me the comics
And a sip of your beer
Trust me
I'm laughing now
Never did quite understand you
When you mumbled
And always chewed your snuff
But this is how I want to remember you
Always full of life
And yeah well almost always drunk
I know you wouldn't really want us to cry
Instead carry on with our lives
Don't worry I'm not deeply sad tho
But I can quite assure you
It will hit me all at once
At the funeral
The funny part is ,Pap
I know You'd want me to go out and get drunk
So I'll have a beer for you
Perhaps even maybe chew some snuff

This ones for you Pap Pap Brandon!!

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.

Very nice,  and you were blessed with some
very memorable moments, over a span of many
years.  Yes,  have one for him,  I am sure
he would smile.

Ceinwyn, this is very sad. On a day set aside for the remembrance of so many. This day will now have an even more special and personal meaning to you.

This was a wonderful tribute to your dear Grandpa. I hope that by sharing your loss with us, it has helped you gather your feelings about something this meaningful. I know that helps for me. Your Granddad sounds like a terrific fellah. He’d share the comics plus a sip... that’s a really cool memory.

You know as we get older, I think we all tend to kind of mumble to whippersnappers. I think at some point, we don’t really care to be repeating ourselves all that much, and heck, the young’uns probably wouldn’t understand what we we’re saying in the first place.

I remember going to my Aunt’s funeral a few years back. It hadn’t really hit me too bad, because I was trying hard to control my feelings, plus I had so much to do, to prepare for the services. But, right when the other ushers and I picked up the casket, and carried it to the hearse, It all came out. And I couldn’t hold it back anymore.

I wrote a loving tribute, about my feelings for my lovely Aunt beforehand, and read it at the church. I had it enclosed in this gold colored frame, and I presented it to my Grandmother (my aunt’s mother) when I was done reading it to the gathering. Ceinwyn, you write very well, maybe you would like to do something similar?

Well friend, you hang in there all right? Your dear Granddad will be in my thoughts this day. And I think I’ll join you, and have a drink as well.

A toast, to a fine human being, who left countless happy memories behind, for his grandaughter, to always remember him by...

Take Great Care Ceinwyn,

My heartfelt blessings, to you and your family,

Most Sincerely,

Richy

(big hugggssssssssss) Oh Kristen, I send many healing angel hugs your way, dearest friend, though my grandparents are still alive and I can't fully relate to this feeling, I know how I love my grandparents soooooo much and I will never take a day I see them for granted nor one I have already lived so I can always hold their advice, bible readings, quiltings, and memories close to heart! (sigh) Your Pap is a blessed man and will always guide you from above with his loving smile of the sun, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kristen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You may have lost your grandfather in the flesh, but now you have another angel on your shoulder. Pap--God speed!

Lovely poem--and one for your family to treasure! He's smiling for sure!

Love 'n hugs,
Linda

crashing on a brand new day;
keep the memory of your face
but wipe the pain away...
