Moved from a shack to a barn

Seven thousand days
separate the time that I last beheld her
from the time I first saw your image

Seven thousand nights
measure the span I have been on my own
my bed empty, regardless of occupancy

Seven thousand sins
have been added to my side of the ledger
while hers, and yours remained pristine

Seven thousand Arias
are sung between her own “night music”
and your ecstatic psalms of love

And today, I saw her
And today, her smile gave me absolution
pardoning me, from her heart to yours

In its literal sense, 7,000 days works out to over 19 years, two months and seven days.

We say take one day at a time...

we don't look at the overall length, or we would say..."I can't"...

This made me think of where my ex might be in his mind...he never went on with his life, and he might very well be saying something similar, with the exception that he wouldn't have put in the last stanza...

This one hurts, Wranx...it is a song all of its own...

A good read.

Perhaps the time has truly come to release the past and move on with one's life.

Beautifully written.

This would be going into my library for just this line even if the rest wasn't absolutely awesome. This does hurt... but it also offers hope... and it's just superb. *S*

and here I sit dumbfounded
never knowing this was about me too
I want to thank her . . .
for bringing you to me
I love you
