I find that I can no longer hide my love for you
I have been hiding it behind words of moonlight and pen
Afraid of what would happen if they were ever attached to me
I said that I was doing it for you,
To protect you from prying eyes and paranoid voices
But, in the end, I was doing it because I was afraid
Afraid of what those eyes and voices would do when they knew that
What they feared most was true
That my love for you wasn’t something that I had made up on a whim
That your love for me wasn’t merely a figment of imagination
That our love was real

I find that I can no longer hide my love for you
For I am not the type to keep such words under my heart
No, I am the type to sing of my love for you
With words that make the old weep with memory
And make the young yearn with hope
Words that can no longer be held back,
This is the love that I have for you,
A love that has given me back the things I have missed
A love that brings me back to myself
A love that takes away the things that took me over
          And kept me from being the person that I was meant to be

I find that I can no longer hide my love for you
Because the time has come for me to step away from old paths
And to take the first steps toward a happiness where you and I are one
We have come through the storm, and we have found the rainbow
It draws our hearts together and shows us the way to life and being
Now, we only need to begin the walk together, again as before,
          With the wisdom of past mistakes behind us
                    And the remembrance of things to come in front of us

I find that I can no longer hide my love for you
For, in telling of my love for you, I tell the story of my life

But, begins with first words

(big hugggssssssss) Unrequited love is truly a killer and it hurts so many, I'm happy you value the love you have and proclaim it as there is so much less to lose if you proclaim it and find rejection than living your life in mystery! I have always thought that if you can't express your love and have to hide it, that something is wrong.
