Somehow,
in the midst of my treading,
leaping from cliff to cliff of unknowns,
my passion was swallowed
by the caverns below.
And I have found myself,
stranded without way of travel.
My soul longed for the pathways
my writing had created.
My spirit,
in need of the flight
I only found in song.
And now,
I am slowly sinking,
into an endless valley of silence.
Trapped in the echoes
of my cries.
I once created worlds
in my words.
I once brought heaven to earth,
in a song.
I once felt beautiful...
And yet hear I stand,
lost,
alone,
creator of silence,
inspiration to none.
Inspired by nothing
but the fading memory of life.
Life I once held in my hands,
rolled off my tongue,
painted with my pen,
captured with my mind,
and freed with my heart...
I can feel the dust,
weighing down on my dwindling frame.
Feel the years,
slipping through the fingers
that once grasped each second as it came.
...cradled them with anticipation,
and appreciation.....
I am drowning in this desert.
My mouth filling with this dryness,
this lack of life I find myself so full of...
I am alive,
inside the sinking earth,
as I am falling, falling away.
May I reach the other side,
before all hope of light, and love, and life
has been sapped from my veins.
Before the darkness overtakes my tender heart,
my tender ways.
I don't want to just grow old,
I want to grow beautiful,
I want to bloom from the dark earth I am encased in.
But how can a flower bloom without water, without light...

This is positively, exquisitely beautiful.  No need to say more.

I don't know if today is a good day, or if yesterday was, or if tomorrow will be, but I'd like to think so.

Heard the heartbeat of a strong and genuine blossom here...
Thinking rain, thinking wind...
helping hand and smile for the road...

You have expressed a lonliness that stands in utter silence.  I am guilty of alienating myself, on the other hand,  by removing myself, I no longer have to deal with the disappointment that comes with expectations....At some point I realized that it was bringing out the worst in me.  Beauty lies not so much in the eyes of the beholder but in the heart of ourselves.

I loved your poem,  and I thank you for it.

Even in a deepest abyss, passion can be found...

Even when stranded, we can make our way home...

Even in quicksand, we can scratch and claw our way out...

And even in the dessert, flowers bloom...

Finding our spirit, on the other hand...

Really is, the true challenge...

Hopefully, with each others help, that challenge can be made easier...

Welcome to Passions Ani Zen

Wonderful Write!

This whole poem is beautiful, but the above especially stood out.
