You are not
the only one broken

but the drama is stale,
the point redundant

good deeds
have been punished
appropriately
on both sides

I am weary
of your mirror,
distorting intent
to fit your need
for absolution

still, if blame
is all you desire
allow me, one last time
to fill your cup

drink until you’re satisfied,
it’s almost closing time

No two situations are alike, nor are they unique....Life is a comedy of errors and the drama is over rated, not to say I haven't played the part.  ugh~

What a way to call it a night Duncan~
Thank you very much for telling it like it is.

Good old dysfunction.

When blame is involved it is one finger pointing at someone and three pointing back at the accuser. And, if the accuser is not willing to take a look at themselves, and own wrong motives to have gotton involved to begin with, it won't work. Not to mention the other, who usually had wrong motives too...and I've played both parts; there won't be  peace.

Last call is nice, but it is the afterhours that's the killer...

When the sun comes up it is so easy to to forget ~it~ isn't working, cause it requires hard work and energy to change, or to know it is time to cut our loses and do it...and that is difficult to do when life in every other way won't stop long enough to give us the time needed.

Nice rant...sure brought back memories.

Hugs, Pat

only the bartender can know when its time for last call.

poignant write poet Dunc ... its good to read your "other" style of poetry...seems like its been awhile...Goob has been doing all the writing of late

You're the best I've ever felt ...
it's so wrong not to be with you.
It's getting harder to stay away,
it stops my heart just to be with you.

Duncan, I love this "telling it like it is" side of you.
I don't see how anyone can judge everyone else by their own feelings and opinions. Until someone walks in anothers shoes, they have no right to judge that person.

Don't you think?
We are  ALL entitiled to our own mistake and learning process.

Thank you  for this.

Duncan

It takes much strength to finish and close the door and still get in the last word.  Enjoyed this scene, sort of like a lesson in how to.
