you're loosing to much weight
but you don't think you are
you think that it is great
but you're taking this all to far

i see the cuts a pon you're arms
and the ones apon you're legs
but you'll be sorely missed
if you end up dead

you're showing all the symptoms
i'm reading all the signs
you really are not well hun
annorexia nervosa isn't fine

the mucles you used to have
on your legs and on your arms
have been eaten away by hunger
and the on that keeps you living, is being done as much harm

i don't want you to die
is that to much to ask
if you carry on this way, i waon't lie
you waon't live to see the future you'll be the past

It must be so painful for you to watch your friend waste away. Continue to give her your love and support. I hope that she is receiving some professional help for this increasingly prevalent condition in our millimeter-perfection society!

Sending healing hugs to you both,
EA

I have a friend in the same place... I feel for you.
It hurts so much watching other's hurt themself and not even realise or admit it.

I hope things get better... glad she has a friend who cares.
Always, Alyssa

This is deeply sad....
I hope she reads and understands that she needs help.

Well, young or old, per your critique box you brought a problem to light in exactly the way it is with this problem. This is very well written along with the emotions that go with  it.

They cut because that pain is less than that which they cannot deal with...I too, hope this your friend seeks professional help, and that you have the support you need to be able to endure watching a friend self-mutilate and disintegrate.

There is much help on-line for both of you. Type in Cutters using Lukol.com search engines...also can type in: Borderline Personality Disorder for more info., and help. Heart hugs to you both. You are in my prayers.

Again you did one wonderful job in poetic form getting across a message.

Hugs, Pat

Times such as these are when friends are needed most.  I wish you both the best.  I hope that your friend realizes the true friend they have in you.

dani, you have showed much love and compassion in this poem. It really touched me and I'm sure every one that reads it.

Like the others, I truly hope that your friend swill seek professional help...not only for the anorexia, but also the self-mutalation.

You are a very good friend, because a friend in need is truly a friend in deed.

Heart hugs to you both,
Ethel

I know where your friend is coming from as far as the eating disorder goes.  It is certainly not an easy thing to give up.  Support is wonderful and much appreciated, but please know that there is nothing beyond support, guidance and love that you can give.  You cannot "fix" her - don't get your expetations too high -  you need to take care of yourself mfirst.  Good luck
