Morning Bell

Smashed last night,
With the morning bell I came around.
Stumbling across the door with certainty,
Only to find the empty bell replaced by
The faint echo of outer zephyr.
The star glimmered hope beneath grey clouds,
The morning bell frustrated me.

Inside I ran to Him for answers,
My hands clasped like a gem,
I closed my eyes and prayed.
He gave me
Liquor to commemorate good times,
Yet I wanted so much more.
These restless times through
Endless roads,
Hear you me, I’m a friendless ghost,
Where’s my companion?

Through my prayers,
With the morning bell I came around.
Deserted with tear drops in my eyes,
I clutched my palm against Him.
Stumbling across the window only to find
Hope shattered again.
The morning bell echoed,
I’m Death to remember,
May Angels lead her in…

Induced or not, your tears read real~

I enjoyed the crossing of your thoughts, and the ringing of the bell.

I was attracted by the title .... I love the morning bell.
I am glad I came in to read your poem. It is powerful. An outcry for a touch of love.
Very well done.
