Morning comes slowly into the haze
of fires and fog intermingling against
a backdrop of forest and hill.
Death sleeps..

Tinkle of tin on spoon awakes the
aroma of stirred grounds laced with
copious heaps of sugar...the edge
to kill stirs the bowels...

The twinkle of stars through thin
openings lend a false sense of haven
as the roll of iron shod wheels bring
to bear the black round death, the
chain that gives no quarter and
apologizes not to friend or foe.

Fall of ‘63 and blue meets gray
as boys become men or die in
a hail of steel and lead. Moans
will drown the burst of cannon fire
as shrieks chill the bone and bring
the shiver to a neck’s nape.

Reap the field of war, reap the field of corn
reap the field afar as soldiers stand and mourn.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Barry, this is so very heartaching, dearest friend, it saddens me to know how all who went there got disrespect from everyone and now many of their lives are not the same anymore having to be surrounded by the shame and lack of honor! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

My vision opened up to accept all that your words showed me and I wept for the suffering I saw yet I rejoiced in the freedom that so many lives were spent to gain....STUNNING...ABSOLUTELY STUNNING...You write visions of purity and clarity, dear friend....Never stop following the direction your heart and talent takes you for you follow a path that shines with a gift most rare....

So glad you are back. I would like to have an entire book of your work.

There is a resonance in your poetry, as the resonance of souls on the battlefield...
The images rise and beckon to look further...across the meadow.
Well done Mag. TD

And so we reap what we sow, over and over again.
I heard the battle cries,
and wept.
