Good Medicine For The Soul

I wonder sometimes what keeps me here.
Whether it is the friendships born
or the need to not be alone.

There are times when I talk to myself
trying to convince me
that this is not real,
that if I turned this off
there would be nothing,
and maybe I would be forced then,
to seek more on the outside.

But where can you go to be cheered up,
or calmed down, or stressed out
and always, always, there is someone else
to share your feelings that day?

Someone else to pick you up,
someone else for me to support,
someone to massage your ego
or tell you when you are off base.

Nowhere can one have
so many emotions explored
in one location as "Passions".
Nowhere can friends be so easily made
by a single word, a phrase,
a verse or poem.

We do have a lot to be thankful for,
even in times of sadness.
Passions may not be a cure-all
but it certainly is good medicine for the soul.

Amen to that Maureen! Passions has been a saving grace for me since I joined. It is a comfort just knowing that friends here accept you just as you are, and are willing to even give "my poetry attempts" a chance...lol. Bless you lady. Chris

You are killing two birds with one stone, maybe?

There are times when I talk to myself

to share your feelings that day?

Especially when there are much more fish in this type of ocean...

I can easily relate. Well put, Maureen.

This is just perfect! I imagine many of the Pipsters can identify with your words--I certainly do!
Beautifully expressed! Thank you!

Big, warm hugs,

I often wonder if this place changed me, or just helped remind me of I am...

either way? It's all good.

Maureen, I've asked myself the same questions, and have come up with the same answers as you have said in this poem.

There is such a feeling of acceptance and unconditional love in this place, isn't it? If one person doesn't give that to you on any given day, another person does. It's like someone is always there, no matter the time of day or night.....there's always a friend close by.

Thank you for this, Maureen. I think everyone at Passions can relate to this poem in some way or another.
Hugs,
Ethel

Chris, thanks   , your poetry is enjoyable.

Dixie, maybe that IS it. Maybe I feel  more needed than I do off here. Hugsss

Opeth, 2 birds with one stone,
more fish in the sea...well the  birds I can locate. Those fish swim too deep for me

Linda, Ethel and Sue, you guys always make it seem like there is warmth floating around.
Thank you for that.

Karen, either way...both are good. I think you may have helped change others, too.
Thank you hugss
M

Now I will be off for a few days child sitting for a friend. At least I won't be lonely for the weekend. So if I don't respond to any more, that is why. Have a great Mother's Day...
