I’ll Always Remember

How long has it been
since my heart was this full?
How long does it take
to wake up someone’s soul?

To again realize
who’s important to you
To bring back old memories
so long overdue

How happy I was
to again see you smile
And laughing out loud
like you did as a child

To feel your embrace
as we hugged and we kissed
Feelings forgotten
how much I had missed

Fate doesn’t pause
until your mind is made
Borrowed time’s something
you cannot repay

Without some courage
your chances are lost
Rejection’s high price
carries too steep a cost

How lucky we are
when we get to renew
Kinship in need
of a patch or some glue

Rekindling old friendships
of which we once knew
And starting some others
altogether anew

I want you to know
how proud of you I am
That I really love you
as much as one can

I only now hope
that you now realize
How much I have missed you
how hard I will try

To always remember
the time that we spent
How happy we were
how fast the time went

Even for a moment
how great it did feel
That something so nice
was no dream, it was real

Richy,

This is wonderful and though you may have meant it in a romantic sense,
according to your comments, it can be applied and does touch my heart in that I can visualize other kinds of love relationships with it....

I love it!

Thank you, Hugs, Pat

Thank You Marge!

Is there a song you know of with the same title?

Huglets Back Marge!
Thank You Pat!

Actually I wrote this poem after a trip to see my family who all live in another state...

I hadn’t seen them in many years...

And so, you are right, it can definitely be meant for all types of loved ones...

Thanks again Pat and Marge for your nice replies!
