I am not a blind man, but often I can’t see
The road to better future or the joy awaiting me
I live with life’s frustrations, which consume my thought of mind
When will come my answers that all seem so hard to find?

We want so much from future that our moments drift away
A sick man prays for life’s return so he can love each day
We all forget that moments turn to memories of our past
Which comfort us in times of need, as long as they do last

A second spent with beauty, offers mind and body peace
The inner self some essence and the body some release
A moment spent with truth and love ensures one day we’ll know
That life is truly worth the time and each day worth a go

We look ahead not seeing all the good that life does hold
A blind man sees that picture and it’s better than we’re told
It’s waiting for the picking, for our moment given free
I’m told that life is wonderful, but often I can't see

Hi Rick,

Nice to see you posting here.

Enjoyed your thoughts here, so true.
As far as not seeing...we forget what is important and that is NOW, that it could be that simple.

I think this line says much:

"We all forget that moments turn to memories of our past"

I am definitely a forgetter. Thanks for the reminder.

Thought provoking poem, Rick.

Enjoyed, Hugs, Pat

Hi Pat, nice to see you again and feel the warmth of your words, I to am a forgetter and the moments just fly by, each a regret of my tomorrows, but with our writing there will always be reminders and friends we can share with.
Thanks for the reply Pat, always nice to have a chat.

Sincerely
Rick

Rick,

I loved this so much...I know exactly what you are talking about.  Life can be replete with frustrations.  I will let you in on my little secret which often soothes my soul.  At night, on especially difficult days, I look for a few good things that happened that day.  Some days you really got to look for the blessings.  Oftentimes, they are very simple blessings.  But if your focus remains on finding the "good stuff," you can't be looking for the bad.  Does this make sense?  I hope so.

This is very beautiful and appealed to me because I can relate.

Hope I helped in some small way,

-Patricia

Patricia, this makes great sense, thank you so much for this reply, it means a whole lot to me, there are many blessings out there, I will now look more and find those wonderments of life which I have missed.
Your comments have been heart felt and appreciated.

Rick, Ihave a similar probem, I seem to be always remembering the past, and neglecting the present. What a wonderful work you have done here.

Hello Rick

I was so very moved by your words which contained so much that I could relate to.

Here is a little something for you, although not written by me.

"The source of love is deep in us
and we can help others
realise a lot of happiness.
One word, one action,
one thought, can reduce
another person's suffering
and bring that person joy"

Take care.....Sue
