Of silent tongue and faded quill
in moments when a pen heard...
is silent upon the page of
dusty parchment....wandering

As trumpets raise quietly
and fingers rest lightly upon...
A strum of syllabic scrawl
awaits...wondering

Rest Poet...for thee art
mightier than the sharpest
scything sword...

As twilight wanes upon
the flickered flame dancing.
So shall the hand that
touches souls...

Rest poet....till the scrawl
sings, the words ring....
and thy words dance the
halls of passionate blue...

I'm so glad your quill took a rest, from resting, to pen this one...it's quite fine! It has a restful quality to it, for certain.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

And with each rest, eloquence renewed.
I had noted something lacking these pages...and I knew it had something to do with you.
So good to have you here.

the Muse has returned...
so be it...

this goes with with Midnitesun's earlier
penning this day...

I can see the Muse was busy, pushing
many along...

Hello Barry

Your words danced off the page and touched my heart as they always do.

For you my friend,

"A friend bears the song
in my heart
and sings it to me
when my memory fails"

Take care......Sue

I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

....but don't rest too long.... I rested for nearly three decades before I started writing again.....!

Giving that field a fallow season is ok, but letting it go to brush like I did -- too much.

A Great Write. Especially the ending. I never have enough patience waiting for the next idea but it's usually worth the wait.
Thanks for sharing this.

Barry, this is fantastic. But what do I do when I need my quill to wake up?

Barry - a pen rested is with desires to write as never before. Never stop your pen from writing...
