Listening to every heart

0 posted 2003-05-02 01:49 PM

Somewhere there is the grit
and grip, the gritch
of me,

for I read it today,
someone said
we’re all bipolar…

aren’t we, though…

aren’t we.

She is.

Oh, I’ve seen the talk
of the loveless and love lost,
I’ve felt the stretching for the unattainable,
and the commiseration of those
wiser than me…

what I would give,
for the devil hasn’t yet
claimed my soul

is to see again her eyes once more,
recognize she is all right,
then hold again the babe of her
against my aging body,
feeling her growth of ways I haven’t seen
in years,

and whisper

I love you still…I never stopped…

~*~

so I will just whisper it
to the wind,
believing the prayer of it
will find her heart

before the devil
takes my soul.

Oh, I do believe that the wind will surly take your prayer and deliver it to One who will most devotedly deliver your message. Very strong and most sentimental poetry expressed here. God bless.

Very nicely thought and written "K"

It matters not how you answer, It matters only that i hear you.

I believe there is beauty in words, and if it's done right you can make somebody question the changing aspects of their life.  In your poem you gracefully mix those feelings found in something changing, like age, with something permanent like true love.  Your poem flows like water.

I think all of words have been replaced by tears.

But know that even when the sun won't shine, I keep a light on:

A constant and boiling cauldron for any cook to watch. This in its heartfelt rawness was a fine tribute.

Sometimes we are helpless to even do a thing, and it is accepting that powerlessness that will give us peace in the knowing that we did all we could. (hugs)
