so mundane,
so ordinary and familiar,
a chore to be undertaken,
not of passion but obligation

no new challenges,
only do's and dont's
the routine,
played out a hundred times

nothing changes,
but why,
the rut only grows deeper,
boredom maybe or just complacency

afraid to change,
to grow,
to experience,
when
