The sickening thud
as flesh meets earth
and scattered feathers
spiral slowly after
the fallen
Salvation
comes to those
in need but
will it come for
He that needs it most?

(Sorry for the cross post Mods but I meant to post it here and couldn't delete it from the other forum)

will it come to he who needs it most......
maybe it h as, maybe its already there,
it is, but you yourself have to see it...
and you wont see it by looking for it either.
(been reading a lot of taoism lately)
dont know if this makes sense, this poem
seems religious, and truthfully, i am not...

I am in no way religious. This is religious only in the sense that it is about the devil. It was inspired by a quote, unfortunately can't remember by whom or the exact words for that matter.
The quote in essence asked,
If religion preaches salvation and forgiveness to all why does everybody hate the devil so much, doesn't he need it more than anybody?
I just thought it was an intriguing idea and lent itself to a poem.

hey...sometimes folks just don't know what to say.

But I liked the subject of the poem, and I ponder this quite often. But I have in the past pointed out that in the rites of exorcism, it is stated that demons may be banished but the only way to truly be rid of a demon is to transform it--through love. It's all energy and it can't be rid of--but may conducted to an alternate route.

And yes, it's a touchy topic for many, but scripture clearly indicates that Lucifer was not only a creation of "God" but a favorite.

Smiling atchoo.

I'll shaddup now too.

Enjoyed tho.

(and don't be disheartened by any lack of replies, keep hitting those tough topics, my motto is? "keep yer head down and TYPE!")

Guess who made me do it?
Raph, don't worry about ruffled feathers. I never do. At least you still have some to ruffle.
Now what did she mean by that???

Karen thanks for the advice and thanks for the reply. You're right according to scriptures Lucifer is second only to the big man and the very fact that he is allowed to exist is proof even he has a place in the scheme of things. That is if you believe in either of the two.

Kacy I'm not worried at all and as for the second part. What do you mean by that?

Noah if you beleieve it then I'm happy for me and wish it all comes true

Maree hopefully not thinking to hard I thought i smelled smoke..
JUST KIDDING! thanks for the compliment though after this reply maybe the last one lol

Yes..a thinking question that lies somewhere between logic and faith..with the answer unable to be quantified or verified based on the limited amount of understand any of us have of the concept of God and or belief in such a concept.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Wow -- I didn't get the intent until you explained it...  I simply pictured the atrocity of hunting, but I guess, metaphorically, same difference, no?  Vivid imagery and definitely thought provoking.  As for ruffling feathers...  what's that say about the audience...?

Cpat thank you for sharing your thoughts  on a loaded subject

Connel thanks for the kind words

Mark thanks I'm glad you liked it and yes, I didn't notice it myself but it does have a hunting theme in there doesn't it. Agreed about the ruffling, openmindedness is a cure not the disease..ruffleruffle
