Thank you for this year, that now slowly sets toward  a sunset
carpeting the land in orange, as clouds cover the skies of
blue before stars land amongst the darkness..

A year of quiet, of joy....of tears in reflection of lives that
were lost to acts horrid to most, plausible to some.  Time
when hands were rung, when chairs were gripped in anxious
moments, when babies were born into a world of beauty and
death...

Months that have flown by as a gentle breeze covers a field of
wheat awaiting the harvest....Where events have spawned the
fury of nature,   the anger of humanity and the sadness of souls
standing in silent shock...  Times of terror and times of sheer
exhilaration....The feel of a sudden drop from the highest peak
upon a roller coaster of emotions....The shriek of acceleration
and wide-eyed awe...

Weeks of decisive indecision, of unrelenting relentlessness, of
the heat of a winter, the cool of a summer, so much that was
not as it should be....A time of doubt, of resolve, of answers
and whys, of shouts and silence....of countless senseless
acts of violence, abduction and fears.

Days have brought into our lives many joys, many moments
of reflection and quiet pondering of what might be, of what
was...  Computers gave us the world at our fingertips, as
we said hello, we sighed, even as a tear fell into the brink
of humility....For life is most awesome, yet humbling.

Such was the year of 2002, may we reflect and learn
as we journey into a new year of our young and small
yet great existence in but a speck of history....

Happy New Year to you all...

Barry

Thank you for capturing so beautifully the paradoxes and reasons why life is worthwhile. Happy New Year Barry and may inspiration, laughter and love be yours every day.

The soul would have no rainbows, had the eyes no tears.
