In the space between moments

A close friend of mine died in a car crash yesterday along with one of her brothers and one of her sisters. I've found the only way I can deal right now is to write. Thank you for reading and sharing in this difficult time for me.

We set you free
Into the hallowed sky
Where you become divinity

What grace was you
Lingers softly here
Lighted still—in us

Emblazoned upon our souls
You reside forever
Cherished as part of our whole

Sacred are the moments
Of hushed memory
As we touch you in our dreams

We set you free
With the sanctity of love
To amongst the angels fly.

Krista, beautiful write.

May you find some comfort during this time of loss, keep strong and live for the friends you have lost for they will always be alive within the memory of you.

My prayers to you, your family and friends.

Elizabeth- I can't even bear to watch it on the news anymore...it doesn't even feel real.  They were all so young..so talented...all of us that were close to erin are devastated.  Thank you for your prayers, her family and all of us friends need them now.

Sharon- Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

Fee- That is how I feel...she lives still, in us.  Thank you.

Vicky- Thank you as well, the support is much appreciated.

Krista, I too am in the midst of acceptance so I offer you strength, and join you in setting them free.  They do live on in all of you as memories.  May God surely bless you and the family of these taken souls.

Krista, I join your other family of friends here in prayer for you, Erin's family, and all your friends. I know that prayer sure does help during these devastating times.

As you already know, writing helps very much, too....

My heart goes out to you all......
Hugs and love to all of you,
Ethel

Thank you all for the support, I truly appreciate it.  The more hugs the better right now.....tomorrow night is the public memorial and the funeral is new years day.  It's going to be a hard couple of days.  Thank you all again for your kindness, I am in debt to you all.

Krista,

I think you did a wonderful job of capturing all the emotion that overwhelms the situation. You did her justice.

God be with you during this, I know how hard it must be for you.

Releasing their spirits, but not their memories. Be at peace; you wrote a wonderful tender farewell, one that hopefully will help the remaining family and friends deal with the sudden loss.

Thank you everyone....I was right, these have been the two hardest days of my entire life. The gnawing inside of me is so strong.  Every moment is hard. Someone want to tell me how you get the image of one of your closest friends laying in a casket in front of you?  I keep looking at old pictures, but I still can't get that final image of her, looking like some sort of wax figure, out of my head.  Maybe it'll just take time.  Anyway, thank you all again for your support.

I wish I didn't understand this feeling. The only way I know to replace the image is to keep the old pictures in the front of your mind. Time will help soften the horrible image, but the pain and shock never really go away, I'm sorry to say.

I was very sorry to hear about Erin.  My heart skipped a beat when I first found out and I thought about you and Abe and everyone else and how hard it must be.  Remembering the good times that you had with Erin may help to erase the bad images from you mind.  Always rememeber that your friends and loved ones are there to help you through hard times.

Writing is a gift that can serve many purposes but can be especially helpful at times like this.

kaile- it is hard, but I'm coming closer to some sort of acceptance...I had a powerful dream about her that made me believe that she is ok and that has helped me more than anything so far.  Thank you for your concern.

Midnitesun- Thank you so much for your words and for caring, I deeply appreciate the kindess.

Keith- It's really nice to hear from you.  We're all getting by, but it's hard.  It's difficult to imagine someone so full of life gone from us...thank you for thinking of all of us, I'm thinking of you too.

Bohemianaus- Writing is indeed therapy and it's helping...thank you for your concern.
