In so many ways
We flounder on rough rocks
Being banged around
With bruised feelings
When all we are seeking
Is calm seas

In upsetting fashion
We are put into a blender
Emulsified in different blends
Of homogeneous mixes
Never ever mixing
When all we really want
Is a pure love potion

In a tirade of words
We are hit broadside
To capsize endlessly
In a cyclonical depression
Of total devastation
When all we strive for
Is inner peace

In a nightmare so real
That two universes unite
Bringing the inner mind
Into the chill of the outer shell
Where reality is a figment
Of an imagination
When all we need
Is total understanding

So what are we?
That confuses us so
Creating pain
When pleasure is desired
We are the emotion
Of nature’s forces
Ever changing scenes
Transfixing time
In endless possibilities
