emoceans
--------

you executed the revolution so poetically,
left me there--on the sofa seat,
chasing supernovas with a remote control ..

and

i know--i told you to have a good time ..
i know--i smiled, and
i meant it

i meant it ..
but, since you left
i've been stranded on carpets
channel-surfing on emoceans, and
there's been nothing good to watch on TV ..
just been busy playing scrabble with this cold alphabet soup
inside a living room; that's warmed
by the trace of your perfume.
it's been so quiet ..
it's been so boring, here ..
so, i'll place my faith in some latenite talkshow,
pull the drapes to catch an empty parking space,
just to let myself know
it's another pseudo-night ..
it's beautiful--beautiful tonight, and
i'm just too insignificant.

so come home, and
we can defy tragic endings ..
over boardgames and cold pizza
tell me how much fun you had,
i'll tell you how much fun i had ..

tell me everything
tell me you had the time of your life
i'll smile, and
i'll mean it ..

i'll mean it ..
because you're here, and it's beautiful--beautiful tonight.

-------------------------------------------
"and i dont want the world to see me
because i don't think that theyd
understand,
when everythings meant to be broken
i just want you to know"

[goo goo dolls]

I did speed read this a bit...but I loved it and it flowed...

my only honest policy critique?

gawd I would love to see you change the title to "emoceans"

that IS the centerpiece for me...

left lovely see-shells on my shore.

and by the way...loved this quote from the "goo-goo dolls":

"and i dont want the world to see me
because i don't think that they'd
understand,
when everything's meant to be broken
i just want you to know"

it added to the intent of the poem, but you might wanna be more careful with credit in the future...grin..dem dat don't know? might not understand...

You mean this did not have "emoceans"
to begin with...
it had another title?

I'm so pleased you made Serenity's Christmas...
because you made it for the rest of us, too!

Super title...great read!

An excellent read with some truly amazing phrases and images--enjoyed, a lot!

Chris,

Very good. Enjoyed. Everything Sandpiper said, plus I like the sentiment in this. Touching.

Warm regards, Pat

This is the greatest title I've read in a long while. Great poem too!

Christian, this is a good poem, written with lots of feelings and  emotions, or should I say  "emoceans". That is a great title, by the way. but, I didn't see what it was before. I might have liked that one, too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, Chris. And, also, welcome to Passions In Poetry.

I sincerely enjoy the way you write.  Raw, honest, not quite rambling.  (That's a good thing...lol)  And yeah, the title is perfect.

serenity, well .. technically speaking,
i did put in it 'quotes', but yeah .. i
think i'll change it for the sake of
people saying it's a form of plagiarism.

thanks for the fedback by the way.
