What of this dread that all will end
Before dawns new light of day
Before my gathering work, undone,
Or with my children, boundless play
And when I consider intimate,
Simple pleasures, so desperate attune
With all those nights I dream of your touch
While roses, unattended still bloom
And I fear the dark hours ever nearing
When I imagine your sweet charms no more
Or speak these words, but for only your ears
"My dear, I love you!"  Then at the cold door
Of eternity stand, and forever alone, I cry
Till tears enough the oceans fill,
And wash all the clouds from the sky

Robert, if you grow roses the way you
write poetry, they have got to be absolutely
beautiful. Thank you for sharing...

Thank you both, above.  The kind words are muse enought for me!

PS Though I'd like to think I contribute, my roses do quite well on their own!

Happy VDay!

Sea, I adore the uninhibited daisy, as well!  ...a poem may be brewing

This is so touching. I wish it could have stayed in the new forum because it so deals with what many of us feel in the current state of world affairs.
It expresses exactly our anguish, I believe. Very well written and insightful.
Thank you for this.

Hugs,  Pat
