See them glimmer bright
Playing midst the fields of white,
With a joyous sound
On cardboard sleds sliding down,
Pennies having fun
Catching snowflakes on their tongue,
Small change of mankind,
Wide eyed and still playing blind
With the moment’s play on mind.

Gloom

I like this a great deal. Capturing the innocent joy of children...that we could live like that believing all life is clean and pure as fresh snow on our tongues, technically, even that is not true, in this day and age. But, let us let them play as long as they can, pretending how it might have been.

Thank you, regards2you,
Pleased you liked this,
Yes pure as falling snow is just a myth
Being as each flake contains a dust particle
And the question becomes a particle of what?

A fresh and whimsical write that makes me feel like going outside on this beautiful winter's day and catching a few snowflakes on my tongue...

Nice!  So much poetic imagery in that scene - well captured!

An enjoyable read,, makes me want to catch a dusty snowflake and turn it into something magical on my tongue...water; even in it's impure state it has the potential to gift us life.
