If people looked inside our hearts
they'd think every day is Valentine's Day
For love is always there
and we plan for it to stay

Nourishing it every day
helping our love to grow
Giving it special care
in every way we know

Love's like a fragile plant
needing always to be tended
Once from a flower a petal falls
it never can be mended

There are little techniques
that a gardener uses
To help the blooms stay longer
and the flower hardly ever refuses

The same applies to love
if it is ever to get stronger
Giving it much tender care
for it to last longer

There is something very important
that we've found in our love
It takes the two of us tending it
and also much help from the One above

(big huggsssssssss) And it saddens me so much to see everyone treating Valentines Day like a commerical holiday for the money, the holiday was born in the 5th Century A.D when the pagan tradition known as the Luperican festival was popular in Rome and it was a time of sensual pleasure and their blessing to the Lord to meet and have a mate. Then Pope Gelasius outlawed the festival, called forth a new similar festival more mature and suitable, and Saint Valentine was asked to replace Lupercus. And he helped so many young women marry against the decisions of emperor Claudius and he ordered him beheaded, and before he died, he gave a "valentine" to the jailors daughter which he loved, or love note. And so indeed the celebration had some dim twists, but to be chivalrous and to love through song and poetry and get to choose who you want to love and to be loved in return is the whole magic of the holiday, not chocolates, roses, or lingerie. (sad sigh) I wish we could all love with heart every day of the year too, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Julie, I'm glad that you liked this.
It's good to have someone to think of
on Valentine's and every day, isn't it?

Noah, I really enjoyed your lesson about
the way Valentine's Day came into being.
that's very interesting.
About the day being commercialized...it seems
all holidays are becoming that way....Christmas,
Easter and all the rest. People tend to forget
the true meaning of the holiday, don't they? It is sad....
Thanks for replying
