Oh how we would fly if only
we both had wings instead of
just you and not I.

But there are already
far too many should have been’s
and would have been’s
and might have’s too...
if only there weren’t.

If only the words
I love you always equaled
their meaning

And while we are at this if
only business, could someone
figure out how to smooth
off some of life’s rough
edges? I, for one, am
bruised and bleeding.

I think a rope round if only's
ankles and a toss deep down
river, might just do my
reality a world of
good...

if only.

if only... big phrase with so few letters...

enjoyed this...and the thoughts with it. lesson perhaps for us all here... if only can strangle us..
