Oft' times does old man Winter dream of Spring,
whose charms it was decreed he'd never know.
A touch of warmth her memory still brings
in heart of Winter, when the cold winds blow.

The bluster of a cruel un-caring world,
demanded only briefly they should meet,
enraged, the king of ice and snow did hurl
a storm he'd hoped would sweep her off her feet.

But not by force could Springs' embrace be won,
his passion only held her warmrth at bay.
By Nature, he had found himself undone,
and so does still make known his bitter ways.

That Winters' longing lingers Spring will show,
when melt his frozen tears he's cried as snow.

And I am glad you did, Denise.  Next year we have to plan our posting a little better, so ALL of the Christmas threads remain together!
