It's there
on tongue tip
where bitter is tasted
and words are formed
taunting me to swallow
or sing.

I've savored before
the notes of dirge
and heard the throat
as it was ingested into
forever sound

Maddening
those thoughts not found
in remember
become food for explain
of the words

I love you

There
on tip of tongue

Fighting the medicine are we?
Very creative, and well written. Enjoyed the honesty of this piece. ThisDiamond

Ah the tongue, that springboard which dares we dive to life's pool or back down the ladder to ignominy. Here's hoping your courageous leap finds the water fine.

So spit it out! LOL

I like this very much, Cpat... and could literally taste the difficulty of repeating words that have left bitter dregs in your cup before. *S* Excellent write! *S*

By the way... I first read your title as entomology... which led to a major doubletake! LOL

Self-prescribed, I'm sure.
And we must ask...
is there a time when the immune system
just says
no more medicine?

Something to ponder...but then
you always write of
something to ponder...

If the words are there...on tip of tongue..
I say, better to sing than to swallow.
..well, most of the time anyway..if they aren't hurtful.
Good thoughts to ponder this ayem.

Of the words,
I love you,
they...

should ~never~ have a bitter taste.

Sometimes ancient history is best
if left at that.

(of course maybe I am reading this incorrectly, deciphering your poetry ~is~ sometimes like trying to read Greek, which isn't my second language!)

Warmest regards, Pat

Tongue tied?
As always, you've left me that way,
at least for a few minutes anyway.

this from a different point of view,
and you should be commended by it.
and your diction kicks. thanks for the
read, i enjoyed it.

(big hugggssssssss) Yes, sing it all out, for we are all here fot you and that is the beauty of poetry, freedom of expression, the release of the beauty, the anguish, or the questions we may ponder yet! (sigh) This is touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

(a) swallow--(b) spit it out--(c) choke....I always hated multiple choice..hehe--I, too, very much enjoyed your take on those 3 lil words we find so difficult to say!

Perfect title.  Sometimes, if ya hold yer breath, swallow real quick and slam a bourbon chaser...it helps.

Ron

Words are sometimes more than words.  They are large, or frightening, and could change the course of a river.  Enjoyed this, as always, my friend.

Those words never have a bitter taste when spoken....but the after-taste can kill ya!

Excellent writing, Ron. I admire the way you make every words count...

I love how your purposely fumble and stutter, and yet are still unable to ask the power and impact of the final words.

Always a treat to read you, Ron.
