While You Sleep, I Dream...

Two symmetrical glows of gold
rippling behind timid clouds streaked with the day's tears
You see so much:the core, the middle man
If I had your insight I could explain riddles of life
and mysteries of right and wrong

This: the sweet time when night sleeps the deepest
your flaxen hair on mock wind-tossed pillows
Your breath is in my throat, synonymous with joy
my head deep in a lamb's comfort breast

It is a brilliant twilight
a wonderful disguise
- that sleeping face -
that cannot belie the axiom of your wisdom
but it tries, in your subtle night sighs
and in your sensual shifts to touch even tho you sleep

I can never tell you these things in daylight
nor say them when your eyes listen
But I speak reverently now, while euphoric dreams play

someday, perhaps tomorrow
I can find words that your heart will hear, too
and you will finally know
of the depths
in which I love you.

I am genuinely touched by the outpouring here.
  Thank you so much, to my friends and poet friends.  I have been so busy lately, so i DOOOO apologize for the lack of activity here.
I feel pretty guilty about it, darn it.  There's so many great holiday poems to read.  Espec to Noah, let's call on on the holiday:
