For all of you here, thank you for your kindness and friendship.  I am moving to another forum where it is a closer fit to the semi-serious nonromantic writing I want to do more of.  Stay in touch, please; it has been a great honor and pleasure to be
here for the past two years.
Always keep peace in your heart
and give more than you take of life.
~Until We Meet Again,
Jeff

        Be Set Free

Horizons sweetened by a trusting sun rest
Beneath impermanent shields of a martyrs cloud
They never saw beneath the candlestick's layer of warmth
so I closed my eyes to find home

Soft gurgles of riverbeds where sleep comes babbling
immersed in the faith, I was set free!
I often wondered where flames had origins
when all one could smell was smoke.

Assailed hearts thunder and won't slow down
One eye is visionary, the other is blind
Subtle is that closeness which only the soul sees
if filled with truth, one never has to lie

There's a mercy to the untying of the knot
and just a trace of sadness in midnight’s kiss
We have just one stab at an eternal baptism
and right ourselves at last from our secular tumble..

When light shines to closed lids of seeing
the dawn shall give immaculate brilliance!

. . . and be set free . . .

Dear Jeff,

I will continue to wish you the best, as I always have.
I hope you are able to take your writing as far as you want it to go and perhaps even farther.  When you write the book I will read your story and remember,  "I knew him when"

Good luck in your endeavors, whatever they may be.

Lori~

Jeff, just when I'm getting used to your sweet replies to my poems, you are leaving? I will miss you and your poetry. I don't like goodbyes, so come around to say hello to us sometimes. Okay?

Oh, I'm going to keep this one, too....

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Jeff, I can understand what you mean here, indeed this site is an open forum and therefore can be so general and may not always aatisfy the poet who wishes for the biggest critiques, yet I still love going here all the time just because poetry should be communication and Passions is all about communication between all the 6,000+ poets that grace here! (sigh) I seriously hope even while I favor your move 100% that this is not seriously your last post and you will continue to make visits to us al, God Bless You, this made me tear up as you are very special friend to me, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing!

ay love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Jeff, I will miss you.  I will miss your poetry.  There are many places for us to be, with our words, with our music, with our arts...

that you have found yours...is good.  But...

the light will be in the window.

Jeff - sorry to hear that you are leaving Passions. I have always read your poetry and enjoyed it thoroughly. Now I am feeling guilty for not signing them more often. All the best to you & God Bless. Chris ~

I don't do good-byes well, just sit and stare, knowing I will botch whatever I say and live with regrets for the things I should have.

You have been a light when I needed it most and I can never express my gratitude to the extent of the emotion.

May all the powers that be shine and dance within your soul.  May the inspiration of the muse ride beside you to this sunset and well beyond.

May you know you are respected, appreciated and will be very missed.

Thankyou for sharing and for caring.

Hugs to you and yours.

Shadow....Who's gonna "ride" "Passing Shadows" now?....I was gonna leave this forum too...the same reasons as you...You know how serious all my stuff is...right?..And I couldn't find another forum that had other idiots, (Balladeers etc.)....so I just hung around here..though I don't post much any more, I still visit...and hope you do the same.

Jeff, by the out-pouring of love in these replies, you must surely know how much you will be missed by we Pipsters. Wherever you go, whatever you do, we will always be proud that you were once one of our own!

Please do pop into Pip once in awhile! You have many friends here!

Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors!

Linda

P.S. I'd like to add that that was one helluva fine swan song!

My friends,

Do you know the hot-flushed feeling you get when caught or chastized by a superior?  That is the uneasy emotion while leaving here.  It's like the flash of guilt mixed with pangs of longing, and the unsweet anticipation of missing close ties.  And so it goes.....sigh

Suffice to say that all of you who replied are very close and near to my heart.  Many of us have communicated live and thru emails.  We have shared tales of life, and many heart-smiles.   A greater bunch of people couldn't be found anywhere.  Feel free to write and will tell you where i wind up.
I wish you all peace
and since i don't believe in final goodbyes:

Until we meet again,
I remain, forever in your debt,
and your friend,
Jeff

Whis is a beautiful post, Jeff. I'm not saying good bye. I'm only willing to say 'read ya again soon" and I mean that, seriously. I'll miss your replies and your smile.
Keep writing those special treasures, and please let me know where to surf to keep abreast of the next wave you are riding.

Good luck to you in all you do, Jeff. You will be missed here. And as Karilea said, the light will always be on. Stop in from time to time when you are able.

You write beautifully, and this is no exception.

Hope to see you soon.
