Your blissful ignorance
does not surprise me.
When the last petals fall
from the dying rose as it's spent,
you won't even be conscious,
and its not likely you'll even miss
the Peace Rose's beauty or scent.

So your ignorance
of 'foreign' affairs
does not surprise me.

You do not even know
the name of any of the Kings,
nor the Governor of Minnesota.
So why should I be surprised
you do not actively involve yourself
as a citizen of the world,
though you know where your Season Tickets are
and who will play in the Superbowl?

Some unfortunates feel powerless, giving up. Thinking their voice is better heard in a stadium than in serious matters. Perhaps ignorance is bliss and they'll live longer. Enjoyed

Kacy, I know people like this..they would rather bury their heads in the sand than to take a stand.
Not much fun having a conversation with them either.
Excellent thoughts here.

RS, Ethel, NAncy, thanks for reading my mini-rant. It's true, those who are ignorant may die with a bigger smile and even outlive me. I appreciate the involvement of the poets and readers here. Those who visit this site recognize there are other heartbeats on this globe.
Thank you, sincerely, for being part of this group.

LOL at you Duncan. Jiminy needs to have a long talk with you, soon.

Kacy,

I do turn off the TV news for it sickens me. I am angry about the people getting elected into office and I can't do anything about it. If I became politically envolved I'd thump somebody, no doubt. I have grandson's and my own son still would be liable to be drafted...The entire world affairs makes me SICK!  and it didn't just start...it has been year, after year after  ~decade~....I admire your passion and wish I didn't feel so frustrated. There is not one politician who isn't dirty...how you gonna fight that! Except  Gov. of Minn. IF he is the one I think he is...better stop now....

Hugs, Pat

(big hugggsssssssss) Look, every one has just one chance to make the best of it and confront this world and make a change for the better, the opportunity has already arisen and you just have to walk on or you may lose it all! That's what I'd say to all the youth of the world any minute I have! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I don't care much for football...and don't know who's doing what in the world. I guess I should turn on the news now and then....
