My Word is Like a Promise

My life has changed tremendously
Since tax season last year
I gave my word I would be there again
The hours he promised me
I am not getting as of yet
Now, I am worried that I cannot keep my word
And this bothers me alot
How does he think I can make it
With only four hours once a week
To get rid of the guilt feelings
For going back on my word now
I do not know how to
My word is like a promise
And a promise I do not break
But, I need more money
Because all my bills are coming in too
He told me I would get fourty hours a week
But, this is not what I am getting
I tried to talk to him today
He would not take the time
The thought of going back on my word
Just eats me up inside

Sounds like it isn't your promise that is the problem. But the promises made to you and not kept. Hope you find the solution that puts your mind at ease. Good luck and just be true to yourself as best you can. Honor is a two way street and you need to be given your due as well.
