“WAITING FOR ME”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Tomorrow I'll walk
the hot desert
sands and into
a canyon not
knowing if it has an
end, yet I
know that you will
be waiting for
me on the
other side…
Excellent BC...wouldn't it have been awesome
if all the men who departed on a trial,
left with that same strong sense of loyalty
within one they loved...
Ha! She should get a jeep and come find you, lest you not be up to the kind of love ......oh, nevermind, you get the picture..smiling here...
If this is meant to imply some personal battle which must be gone through alone, first, then I am way off base.
But, clearly it is about trust and loyalty and romance....which you write so well.
Re-reading and having heard the news of the many soldiers going overseas, this poem would be quite fitting for them.
Enjoyed this as I do all of your poetry.
WOW!!! So few words, such impact. I think she should pick you up; you should not have to endure the heat of the desert.
If she can't pick you up, make sure you have lots of water with you.
