Put the car in drive, keep going until all of the tears are done,
forget about yesterday because it's already gone.
Today there are no answers and the truth lies obscured
behind empty yesterdays and the pain that's left to be endured.

Put the car in drive, don't hesitate or look back
the day fades to dark and there is nothing left but black.
The light will not shine when there no longer is the truth,
all innocence was lost in faded by gone days of youth.

Put the car in drive, set the controls to cruise,
just drive until the tank runs dry, you've got nothing left to lose.....

I know that you can 'read' me
but can you  'hear'  "me"?

sometimes...the driving helps...allowing the mind to be freed of normal distractions and sort out the things inside..

the nothing left to lose part..is when it truly gets sad...

enjoyed the write...

Had a drive or two in my youth.  Thankfully I found home and have no need to wander.  Thanks for sharing.

Lauren and Sunshine, I love you both and thank you....I will be ok, I promise.....   As much as this hurts
you know the old saying that it is better to have known love and lost than to never have known it all.......and when its time for love to leave, just be grateful that it came to visit for awhile...

(big hugggsssssss) I don't like to drive as you can never focus around you and see the possibilities in the blind-zone, I would prefer to walk it off and run for cover if I had to! (sad sigh) This is so powerfully heartfelt, sweet friend, we al love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Donna, I'm also "reading" and "hearing" you, sweet friend.
By the way, I wrote a poem yesterday on the saying you mentioned in your reply. The name is "Better To Have Known Lost Love-MAYBE".
People don't really know until it's happened to them.......

Keep writing, Lady...you know that it helps...
