still dark,
a sweater wraps
morning coffee
on the balcony

I bend like a paperdoll,
inhaling wind shards
to wipe sleep
from my eyes
so that I may,
awake,
swallow the sugar and cream
of a warm dream..of you

don't you see?
is it not as clear to you
as it is to me?

cut me out
within the lines and dress me
as you would--
it is my need of you
that breathes
flesh and blood
into cardboard;

any strength you see
in me
is born in the seed of you--
hold the paperdoll gently,
my love,
you give her life

"And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul."
Pablo Neruda

Perfect...  I can see the look, the thought
from the view in the sip of morning brew,
the reflecting/dreaming of the mind...

Very nice..

Oooh, I agree a nice one. I can picture her wavering in the wind. Better get her back inside before she blows over.

I'm certain he's a spade in one hand for the planting and scissors in the other to trace your outline. Enjoyed.
