Love  makes  our  hearts  skip  a  beat
all  we  can  do  is  sigh
We  love  each  other  more  and  more
as  each  day  passes  by
You  make  me  feel  as  though
I'm  once  again  a  giggly  teen
Such  fun  we  always  have
with  seriousness  in  between

Some  folks  say  it'll  never  work
this  age-difference  between  us
You  say  "Age  is  just  a  number,
so  why  all  the  fuss?"

One  thing  I'm  thinking  of
about  all  their  discussion
Would  it  make  any  difference
if  they'd  notice  our  devotion

Although  sometimes  you  and  I
don't  understand  us  two
We  still  know  the  most  important  thing
is  this  LOVE  you  feel  for  me  and  I  feel  for  you

SUCH   HAPPINESS,  WE  FEEL

Love and age are two different things... if both of you love each other, your love can work out

nice writing

The greatest thing u'll ever learn
is just to love
and be loved
in return

Kelly, that's true, and we've found that out. We've
known each other for over five years and have been
"in love" for over four.......Age never bothers him,
and sometimes doesn't me. All that bothers me is what
other people think, sometimes...
Thanks for reading and replying...

Just think of it this way....it balances
out two personalities...can be very joyful
and create many memories..

Best to you both

if age was the difference between being loved or appreciated, all classics would be read only
by the elderly.  hehehe

Ah, but the seasoning of wisdom allows for better chance of sucess.

All my best, G-G!

Jeff, even though I'm older, he's had a  lot more experience
in life than I have.....probably more than anyone, any age
should have had, actually. So, I kind of think he has
more wisdom than I have, in lots of ways.
Anyway, I do think that we must have a happy medium where
our minds, wisdom, and personalities meet. Sometimes "we"
together amaze ourselves. We compliment each other, I guess....
Whatever it is, is absolutely awesome and wonderful.....
something like neither of us has ever experienced before.....

sometimes what you write makes me believe in love...can't really take much of that kind of writing for some reason, but reading you is good for me.

Great poem Ethel! I am a sucker for love poems myself. Most of mine are on that topic. I agree with what everyone has said, and will add that I think the soul is ageless, so if your two souls have found love what does age matter? It matters more that the love is true and you can find happiness with each other. Good luck!

Dixie, thank you for your reply. I consider your comments
a compliment. I feel the way you said in your "critique box".......
"I write from the heart. Please be gentle". I do to, Dixie,
and it makes me feel good to know that something
I write might help someone else believe in whatever
I'm writing about.

Ethel~ Enjoyed. True love knows no age boundries, I often think that love makes the heart and body feel younger and full of wanting more out of life. Sort of like Love is our fountain of youth that so many have searched for over the years...Paul

Sometimes love is one of those things that is underminded by too many standards. Love holds not standards. Lovely writing...!

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Ethel, this made me cry because I know how special love can feel now yet I have it no more, and Joanna once really did love me and then she goes calling me a liar and saying she would never be stupid to have a long distance boyfriend and that I am three years younger than her. But then I am only 1 1/2 years younger than her, and secondly, age means nothing, besides she used to call me her future hubby! (sad sigh) Sorry I'm going off again, I wish for this special love to awlays shine in you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Paul, that's a wonderful thought...about Love
being the
"Fountain Of Youth". You know, everybody says I'm
looking younger, instead of older. Maybe this is why? HeeHee!!
Thanks...:squeze:

bluRaven, I think you're right. If others would leave
the couple who are "in love" alone, more would stay
together. Don't you think?

Noah, are you glad that you "have known" this love
for Joanna, than never to have known it at all? I was
just wondering, because that's what's always said.......
"Better to have known love and lost, than never to have known"...
Maybe this is so after a person has healed, but what
about while they are healing?
