I wander the halls of my mind
I know not what I will find
remembered bliss haunts me now
cutting through the past as a ships prow
slicing the ocean of life in twain
nothing will ever be the same
changing always, the past not but memories
I recall each one, crumpled down upon my knees
for memories are all I have left
without them, my heart would be cleft
perhaps a man should not live in the past
but how can one not, when they are so vast
