Dinner was done dishes were yet begun,
And I took to rest in reclining chair.
My mind wondering, thoughts off pondering,
Out the slit window to dark I did stare.

Time had gone from me things were yet to see

Thoughts disturbed by sound
Some one my door did pound
Crash pondering down
Making feet touch ground
Some one had came round.

Thoughts had gone from me something there to see.

To kitchen once more, they were at that door,
Opened up to a young old face I knew,
From outside in walked to sitting were talked
Between an offered dinner bite or two.

Friends had gone from me while I did not see.

By the kitchen light,
Words spoke were not slight
Events spent not right
Told of bloody night
People lost from sight.

Friends has gone deadly to never more see.

She had just gone and dishes then begun
Through kitchen window I with sad face stare
My mind wondering, thoughts off pondering,
Reflecting back to friends that won’t be there.

Makes ya wonder about old friend's fate..that you'll never again meet....

Makes ya wonder about time...

What has happened to time?
It doesn't come around anymore.
The very last time I saw
Was a'whistlin' out the door....

I liked this Gloom...made me think...and I don't do that often anymore....

Very touching and sad. Often, I think of those who've passed and seems like with each, there was a specialness...
sometimes, I think they know my happy thoughts of them....they, still so endearing to me....

thank you for this reflective poem, ...wishing you peace....

warm regards, Pat

Several nuances in this, professor, that would leave one pondering, and I would sit in my rocker and creak the wind open with the come and go of time, and space...

and sometimes, we wonder...
do they think of us, too?

Enjoyed this very much, Sir...thank you!

gloom...
you know I am going to echoe Tor here in that this made me think...and some of the thoughts are not all that pleasant...most I have not thought of in a long time..and I wonder if they too sometimes pause in reflection... and for those gone...those...well..all I can do is think.

enjoyed this ..for it truly gave me pause

Thank you, Toerag,
Pleased you enjoyed and were stimulated to thought,
Last I checked it was an unregulated untaxed thing
So you should do as much of it as possible.
Guess that’s why I keep getting lost in thought
It’s free.

Thank you, regards2you,
Glad you liked the poem, keep remembering the lost ones
And they’ll not be really lost, just stepped around the old dimensional door.

Thank you, Sunshine,
Pleased the poem pleased you, sit and think often
although I tend to do so in the dark not the sunshine,
perhaps it’s my dark nature, I figure you can ponder in the daylight.

Thank you, Cpat Hair,
Glad you read, paused, thought and responded.
Keep thinking, keep remembering.
