River Red

At once

     it was a place

           of rest,

                of peace,

Of beauty;

     Serene, tranquil,

          sunshine rippling

                and drifting by.

Gently sinking,

     I was absorbed

          into all,

                 no longer there.

Then with

     feathery touch

          a zephyr called

               and yielding

I became

     aware of her,

          scented and

               standing by.

Enthralled

     I gazed,

          in awe,

               and wonder,

Her majestic

     form so ...

          stately… and

               so… present

and I,

     transfixed,

          drunk deeply

               and joyed

in this work of Grace.

Then through

     Playing light

          I caught the

              lines of time

The wounds

     Of life, of fire,

          of flood

               and storm

The struggle

     to be,

          to live,

               and fulfil.

And I was

     in awe

           for life

               was hers;

Hers to give,

     to nurture,

          to shelter,

               and befriend.

And in

     filtered transparency

          that life

               was lived;

Teaming

     at her feet,

          on her arms

                in her shade.

So, in thrall

     my heart leapt,

          as I lay

                in her shade,

at His work of Grace.

Wow what a wonderful choice of words and decriptive imagery.
Love captivated you.
I think the whole world disappeared and it was you and her.
Keep them coming.

I  LOVE  this...the romance, the form it's written in, the imagery....ALL  of it.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work..
