Faraway Train

A faraway train rides on fantasy wheels
On fog-laden track, misty distance it steals
And echoing whistles are rolling around
The head of a dreamer on pillow of down

The cloud muffled drone of a jet is unfurled
Through invisible space to another man’s world
In the billowy haze of a thick moonless night
The phantom ship glides on a mystical flight

My heart wants to venture through unchanneled space
Of speed and dimension to day dreamer’s place
The night echoes tunes of a traveling song
But the dance of my soul keeps me where I belong

I seem to be picking up on a lot of escapism themes from various poets...it must have something to do with January!  Smiling with you, Lady Santos...

Hey you guys, don't any of you go anywhere without me I want to come too.  Oh Liz, this is so nice, and I liked the last couple of lines too.  (I am busy re-decorating - I'll call soon).

Hi Lis

I love all your poetry so much that I can no longer put a yard stick on any of your works. I send love from both Rosemary and myself, and what a way you still have with words.
