"I'm not afraid of heights" I said.
as I crept along the ledge.
It was the fear of falling
that finally brought me to my knees
crawling
on the edge of cliff
too close to stars
too far from home
squinting through the clouds below
eyes aching for the trace of path
confused
to find me clinging to
the edge of dangling.

"Now I think I understand,"
the earnest fear within your pleas.
I watch you
go again to her
simply
because she says
"come here"
lovely finger beckoning
you climb to your demise.

Oh but I would save you
from this narrow mountain shelf.
I would be your heroine
but first I have to save myself.

Was beginning to wonder if you were feeling better, and I can see that the worst of the flu is over, and you are back...still clinging...but nevertheless, back...

good!

grinning and sniffling...

hey, I'm okay.

All I need now is the ability to grow wings.

Or a a helicopter with one of those rope ladders.

Hell, in a really bad moment, I'd accept a hanglider. But then, that's kinda how I got up here. Grin.

thanks for reading. Think I'll go do the same. I've missed you all.

I think I'm starting to sound redundant.

Thank you.

serenity - your words have hit home. I had to save myself first once....maybe even twice...the ledge was just too jagged and my knees were scraped as well as my spirit. Well done dear lady. Chris

oh damn...how did I miss this one?
reads like a kick in the chest...
*sigh* ...
remind me me twin...which one is Thelma and which is Louise?

ya know what the firemen say...
if you go...we all go...

no more ledges baby...lets walk on the beach instead.

Will the wind remember the names it has blown in the past?
With this crutch, its old age and wisdom, it whispers no ... this will be the last.

Ah - 'Tis not the height that's so fearful, but the thought of falling... I like that concept..

Okay, so now your poetry is a pumpkin, Alice's mirror, and a hangglider! You're quite expansive.

Dang good dangling, as always.
I bow to the serene queen witch.
Into my library now, for safe keeping.
