Life To-Let

He blames it on a time glitch –
on the beer fog,
holds it responsible for his rotten luck,
for turning what was good
forever into crap.

He doesn’t recall sending away his wife
and two daughters,
doesn’t know what the hell happened.
Knows only they won’t be coming back.

He pretends at life now,
rents a fancy house and furnishings
down the street from his alumni;
and like his cronies,
routinely trades in cars and women
for newer, faster models.

He drinks as he always has,
but now it’s to blot out the night,
draining the dregs of permanence
into the past –
leaving him empty.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Corinne, this is so very sad, sweet friend, it is so sad to see so many sacrifice so much like that and ruin their bodies with alcohol! (sad sigh) I've felt horrible the last few days after losing my Joanna but I would never drown my sorrows like that or sacrifice my loved ones, I would simply just let the sorrows suppress themselves! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corinne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

It's a no win situation...some just end up losing more than they can afford and end up blowing it all to hell!!!

A sad write and to the point!!!

Too many of these men and women trading up for better and bigger and missing out on life's more valuable and important things.

As always, Corrine, you wrote a very beautiful poem...this one is so sad, though... but, so real, too...
